Kiwanis 5K Event is Sept. 10

Mark your calendar, get out your running or walking shoes, and plan to join in the family fun!

The Tennessee Soybean Festival is just around the corner, and now might be the perfect time to register for the annual Kiwanis-sponsored 5K Run/Walk and the 1K Kid Fun Run, which will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 7:30 a.m.– noon near Westview High School at 8161 Highway 45 South in Martin.

The 1K Kid Run begins at 7:30 a.m. The 5K Race begins at 8 a.m.

Free drinks and snacks will be available for all participants.

Online registration and all the details are available on the Tennessee Soybean Festival website (www.tnsoybeanfestival.org), on the Kiwanis Facebook page, and through Eventbrite. Onsite registration begins at 6:30 a.m., but participants are urged to register in advance using the online registration link.

This popular event is a morning of fun for all ages. Awards are given in a variety of categories, and this event is always a highlight of the Tennessee Soybean Festival.

Entry fees are modest: $10 in advance for the 5K Run (with a registration deadline of September 1) and $5 in advance for the 5K Walk and 1K Kid Run and Fun Walk.

Proceeds from this event support the Kiwanis goal of “improving the world, one child and one community at a time.”
