Big Cypress Tree State Park visitors are asked to please meet at the park office for the activities listed below.
FRIDAY, July 21st
1:00 P.M. - Edible Plant Boardwalk Hike
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt & Park Ranger Michael Hudson along the boardwalk to learn about some of the native edible plants that live here in the park.
2:30 P.M. - `Reptiles & Amphibians of Big Cypress
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt to learn about some of the cold-blooded critters that call Big Cypress home. She will also be bringing along some of her animal ambassador friends from the park to come say hello.
3:00 P.M. - Live Bird of Prey Program
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt in the visitor’s center to learn about our special bird of prey visiting us this week!
SATURDAY, July 22nd
8:00 A.M. - Morning Paved Trail Hike
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt along the paved trail as we learn about the wildlife that can be observed from the trail.
9:00 A.M. - Cypress channel canoe float! ($10)
• Looking for an opportunity to get out on the water? Join Park staff on a canoe float along a channel of the Obion River where we will be learning about the Bald Cypress trees and other wildlife along the way! Registration is required. Limit: 15 Participants.
3:00 P.M. - Live Bird of Prey Program
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt in the visitor’s center to learn about our special bird of prey visiting us this week!
SUNDAY, July 16th
1:30 P.M. - Afternoon Boardwalk Hike
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt for a laid-back hike along the parks boardwalk to learn about some of the wildlife that can be viewed from the boardwalk.
2:30 P.M. - Fun with Fungi!
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt on the paved trail as we find and identify some of the different fungi living here at the park!
3:30 P.M. - Live Bird of Prey Program
• Join Seasonal Interpreter Claire Smartt in the visitor’s center to learn about our special bird of prey visiting us this week!
