GLEASON (November 11) – The Gleason Downtown Revitalization Committee will host its Hometown Christmas Saturday, December 11, from 5-7 p.m. A lighted parade, with Santa Claus leading as Grand Marshal, will make its way downtown, starting at the American Legion Post and ending at the Gleason Fire Department. At the beginning of the parade, Gleason’s Christmas tree will be lit up downtown.

Churches, organizations, businesses and citizens are encouraged to decorate floats, vehicles, ATVs, bikes, horses or anything else that moves with lights to brighten up downtown Gleason. There is no entry fee for the parade, and those wishing to participate should meet at the American Legion to line up by 5:30, with the parade beginning at 6.

Old Hickory BBQ Food Truck and Korner Kafé will serve limited menus, and vendors are welcome to set up downtown. The Gleason Downtown Revitalization Committee, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is asking vendors make a $10 donation for setup to help cover the cost of the event. Sign up at city hall is now available.

Other events will include Christmas carolers, a City Hall Cookie Crawl, cookie decorating, visits with Santa, 14 lit Christmas trees, decorated by Gleason pre-K-12 students, and much more.
