WEAKLEY COUNTY (April 8) - This year the annual 4-H Summer Camp is cancelled due to health concerns. Instead of the traditional 4-H Camp, the Camp Centers are preparing a “Traveling Roadshow” that will come to the county.
Since the 4-Hers can’t come to camp, camp will come to the 4-Hers. The Weakley County 4-H Traveling Roadshow will be a one-day event held at Discovery Park of America. It will be June 7 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This one-day camp is for 4th- through 8th-grade Weakley and Obion County 4-Hers. The cost of the one-day event is $50. This fee covers the cost of the activities, lunch, a snack and a take-home goody bag.
Participants will also be given a one-day student pass to Discovery Park to use any time they wish within the next year. Activities that 4-Hers can participate in include, but are not limited to: gaga ball, crafts, inflatable archery, assorted yard games and much more. The attendees will also get a chance to view some of the displays at Discovery Park as well.
The deadline to register is May 17. For more information or to register for the event, contact the UT/TSU Extension Office in Dresden at 731-364-3164. Or visit the office during business hours from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
