William Dwayne Avery 1933 – 2022

William Dwayne Avery, 88, of Sharon, Tennessee, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Services were held Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Visitation began at 11 a.m. until time of his funeral service. Burial followed in Tansil Cemetery in Sharon, Tennessee. Mr. Avery was born October 5, 1933.

Mr. Avery was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Lackey Avery; his parents, William Clifton and Margaret Avery; and brother, Norm Avery.

Mr. Avery was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army. He had retired from the Milan Arsenal and farming. He was a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Methodist Church.

Mr. Avery is survived by his one daughter, Beth (Jeff) Mathews of Sharon and three sons: Scott (Leslie) Avery of Sharon, Greg (Janet) Avery of Thompson's Station, Tennessee, and Ken (MaryAnn) of Dickson, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren.
