MARTIN (December 16) - The Westview FCCLA Family, Career and Community Leaders of America & HOSA-Future Health Professionals teamed up to raise awareness and support for the Weakley County Cancer Mission this fall. The sales of “Pink Out” T-shirts resulted in a $1,000 donation, which was presented to the Mission’s representative Roxy Smith at Westview High School prior to dismissal for winter break.
The Weakley County Cancer Mission is a non-profit organization working to meet the financial needs of cancer patients in Weakley County.
FCCLA & HOSA are two career technical student organizations.
Westview’s FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. Since 1945, FCCLA members nationwide have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals offers students a program to develop leadership and technical skill competencies through motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. The core values of HOSA are learning, leadership, SERVICE, and innovation to enrich the lives of others.
