Weakley County Adds New Road

Posted

The Weakley County Road Board met on Tuesday, January 7 to discuss the county road list and an additional road being added to the list.

The unnamed gravel road located along Highway 190 close to Pillowville was deemed eligible to be added to the County Road Maintenance list. The portion of the road falls 0.3 of a mile South of the intersection of Highway 190 and Highway 124, intersecting Highway 190 on the East side and is 0.2 of a mile in distance and 20 feet wide. The gravel road leads to a helicopter pad.

“It meets the County specs and they want to get it on the list so we can maintain it and tar it. There’s plenty of room for a right of way and the culverts are good,” Road Supervisor Jeff Cosby stated.

The proposed name for the road is Scarbrough Road.

The board approved the decision unanimously and the decision will go before the county commission when they meet on Tuesday, January 21 at 5 p.m. in the Commission room at the Weakley County Courthouse in Dresden.
