Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Weakley County Municipal Electric System (WCMES) instituted the following measures to ensure the safety of its customers:
The office is closed to the public, however, the drive-through lanes are open.
There are safe options for customers to pay their bills without driving to the office. They may pay on-line, by toll-free telephone call, or by U.S. Mail from the comfort of their homes. Those that must pay at the office, can pay at the drive-through or the night deposit. See the website, www.wcmes.com for details.
If anyone needs other assistance with their account, please call. WCMES instituted temporary measures to allow customers to conduct business over the phone. If signatures are needed, WCMES can prepare all of their customers’ documents ahead of time and have them sign the paperwork at the drive-through to minimize their exposure.
Customers that have a fever, runny nose, cough or shortness of breath, please do not come to the office in person. Call for special accommodations.
WCMES suspended disconnecting for non-payment through May 1, 2020. However, energy charges and fees continue to accrue. Customers are encouraged to continue making payments as they are able to avoid accumulating a large balance due when disconnects are reinstated in the future.
