Volunteer Fire Departments Hosting Candidate Meet and Greet

Volunteers with the Latham and Palmersville fire departments are inviting everyone in the community to come out and hear from local candidates in the upcoming August 4 election. All candidates running in the August General Election have been invited to participate, with the majority already committed to the event.

This “Political Meet and Greet” will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Mitchell Transport, located at 304 Old SR 118, Dresden, (downtown Latham). The event is free and is family-friendly, with a bounce house available for children. The Latham and Palmersville fire departments are selling hamburgers, hot dogs and bologna plates that evening as fundraisers for their departments.

Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of canned goods and household products for local non-profit, Santa’s Helpers in downtown Dresden. Santa’s Helpers provides assistance to families in need throughout the year.
