NASHVILLE — Mr. Thomas Russell “Tommy” Phillips, 78, died Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Graveside services were Friday, July 10, in East Side Cemetery with Rev. Terry Griffin officiating. There was a visitation for family and close friends at the funeral home.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Jennie Osborne Phillips of Dresden, his son, Coytt (Kelly) Phillips of Dresden; sister, Ruby (R. Jon) Harpst of Coldwater, Mich., brothers, John Walter (Margaret) Phillips of Chester, New Jersey and Oscar (Carol) Phillips of Roanoke, Virginia, four grandchildren, Jody Leah Phillips, Rob Thomas, Russ and Ramsey Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was retired from the U.S. Navy and Weakley County School Maintenance. He worked independently with heating, cooling and plumbing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lowry Phillips; his son, Hoytt Lynn Phillips and parents, Dolphis Henry and Mary Hazel Adams Phillips.
Family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Tommy.
