SHARON (September 16) - An ATV accident last week in Sharon has claimed the life of a 13-year-old and left another Sharon teen critically injured.

Destiny Brewer, 13, of Sharon died in a Memphis hospital Thursday as a result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident occurring the evening of Monday, September 13. Another 13-year-old is in critical condition at a Memphis hospital.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol around 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 13, two 13-year-old girls were riding an ATV on Gaylord Extended in Sharon when they collided with a 2007 Chevy Silverado, driven by Doug Sims, 54, of Martin. Sims was traveling on Adams Road near Sidonia. The ATV reportedly went airborne. Sims was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

The two teenagers were airlifted from the scene by separate helicopters and transported to Memphis hospitals.
