Richard R. Adams 1959 - 2022

Richard Adams, 62, of Dresden passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was born October 28, 1959 to Marlin and Paula Adams. Richard was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ and a 1977 graduate of Greenfield High School. In 2020, he retired as lineman foreman from the Weakley County Municipal Electric System after 42 years of dedicated service. He then served on the Board of Directors for WCMES for the last 2 years.

Richard had the heart of a servant, consistently devoting so much to the community. He was particularly dedicated to the development of the youth. Over the span of four decades, he impacted countless young boys and girls through roles of Bible class teacher, volunteer, and coach of football, basketball, baseball, and softball. He was a faithful Christian, as well as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, friend, and so much more.

Richard is survived by his wife of 38 ½ years, Joy, and his children Marla (Doug) Rook of Palmersville, and Clay (Rupa) Adams of Cordova. He leaves behind two precious grandchildren, Addie and Mason Rook, sisters, Tracey Glisson and Stacey (Shane) Roberts, and a very special uncle, Hugh Adams. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Adams, mother, Paula Adams, and brother, Steve Adams.

Visitation for Richard will begin Friday evening at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield going from 4 pm to 7pm. It will resume Saturday morning at 11 am at Greenfield Church of Christ and go until time of his service at 2 pm. Burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, TN.
