Powers-Jones Announce December Wedding

Zackery Reese Jones and Rachel Elizabeth Powers

Terry and Rubberta Powers of Martin are happy to announce the engagement and coming wedding of their daughter Rachel Elizabeth Powers to Zackery Reese Jones. Rachel is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beatrice Dean of Martin and the late Rubbert Dean, Sr. and Mrs. Lou Ann Powers of Dresden and the late Alvin Powers.

Rachel is a 2019 graduate of Westview High School. She is a senior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a member of the Beta Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She will graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education. Rachel is currently student-teaching at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School in Chattanooga, TN. She is an Event Manager for the Office of Student and Family Engagement at the University of TN at Chattanooga. She is a substitute teacher with Weakley County Schools.

Zack is the son of Tracey Jones of Martin and Chris and Christy Jones of Snellville, GA. He is the grandson of Mr. William and Dr. Susan Johnson Whitehurst of Martin, Ms. Gloria Mathis of Lawrenceville, GA, Mr. Ken Mathis of Snellville, GA, and the late Mr. Christopher Jones III, formerly of Pensacola, FL. He is a 2016 graduate of Westview High School. Zack attended Bethel University in McKenzie where was a member of the Bethel Wildcats football team and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He also attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. Zack is an Educational Assistant at Martin Middle School. He is an assistant coach of the Westview Chargers football and boys soccer teams.

Rachel and Zack will be married on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Dresden First Baptist Church. The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. with music beginning at 3:30 pm. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the wedding ceremony. The reception will be held at Discovery Park of America. Rachel and Zack will honeymoon in Jamaica and will make their home in Martin.
