Obituary: William Lynn Ivy 1969 - 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Lynn Ivy, age 55, of Gleason, Tennessee, who left this world on January 23, 2025.

Born on March 29, 1969, William was a man defined by strength, resilience, and an unmistakable sense of humor. A proud veteran, he served his country with honor and carried that same dedication into every aspect of his life.

William had a gift for bringing laughter wherever he went. His sarcastic sense of humor and quick wit kept everyone on their toes, and he never missed an opportunity to joke around—even into his final days. He had an extraordinary way of lifting spirits and lightening even the heaviest of moments.

Beyond his humor, William was a man of steadfast strength and perseverance. He loved the simple joys of life, from playing poker and working on cars to expressing his creativity through drawing. Above all, he cared deeply for those around him and lived a life of honesty, compassion, and integrity.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Helen Ivy and David Ivy. He is survived by his siblings Steve Ivy, David (Beth) Ivy, Brian Butler, Barbara Farlow of Gleason, TN, and Anita (Chris) Ricketts of Dresden, TN. He leaves behind his children David (Tori) Ivy of Huntington, TN, Mackenzie (Chase) Ivy, and Kaitlyn Ivy of Nashville, TN. William was also a beloved uncle to nieces Mckayla Ivy, Emilee Ricketts, and Aniston Butler of Gleason, TN, and nephews Zach (Leah) Ivy, Hunter Ivy, Chase (Kaleigh) Ezell, and Kane Butler of Gleason, TN, and Cody (Hayley) Ezell of Huntington, TN.

A service to celebrate William’s life will be held on February 7th, 2025 at 1:30pm at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Parkers Crossroads, TN, where friends and family are invited to honor the memory of a man whose strength, humor, and love left a permanent mark on all who knew him.

William’s resilience, humor, and unwavering love for those he cherished will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.

The funeral is set for February 7th, 2025 at 1:30pm at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located at 693 Wildersville Rd, Parkers Crossroads, TN 38388
