DRESDEN (May 7) — Although the drivers of two vehicles were unharmed in a two-vehicle crash last week, their vehicles were heavily damaged.

According to an accident report issued by Capt. Danny Taylor of Dresden Police Department, the wreck occurred at approximately 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the intersection of Morrow Street (Greenfield Hwy 54) and State Route 22.

The report states that Nathaniel L. Noah, 32, of 601 Old State Route 22, McKenzie, was traveling south on Greenfield Hwy 54, in his 2001 Ford F150, when he attempted to make a left turn onto Hwy 22. Noah failed to yield the right-of-way and his vehicle was struck by a northbound 2007 Ford Mustang driven by 59-year-old James K. Jones of 115 Delmar Street, Greenfield.

Dresden Fire Department, Weakley County EMS, and Weakley County Sheriff’s Department personnel responded to the scene.

Both drivers were wearing shoulder and lap belts at the time of the crash. Neither was ejected or trapped. The two men were not injured and, therefore, not transported.

When Capt. Taylor arrived at the scene, he observed fluids leaking from one of the vehicles. Fortunately, there was no fire associated with the crash.

Noah’s Ford F150 experienced disabling damage to the front end. The Ford Mustang, driven by Jones, which was damaged on the left side near the front, also had disabling damage. Both vehicles appeared to be totaled, and had to be towed from the scene by wrecker.

The scene was cleared and all lanes reopened by 2:35 p.m.
