New Community Pavilion Opens in Greenfield

Posted

On Monday October 21, community members in Greenfield as well as elected officials attended the ribbon cutting for the new community pavilion, located right beside the Veterans Park.

This project was funded by the families of James Porter and Bill Puckett, and they are the ones who approached Mayor Cindy McAdams with the idea. After months of work, the structure is almost completed.

“This is something that Greenfield needs. Every time you walk here, you can always think of Mr. James and Mr. Bill,” said Mayor Cindy McAdams.

The pavilion will be open to be used by anyone in the community by reservation with City Hall.  There will be no charge. Mayor McAdams says she hopes to be able to do a Farmer’s Market during the warmer months. It is a covered structure with grills, which is perfect for family gatherings or birthday parties.

There are a few minor things that need to be done to the pavilion to have it completed, which should be finished within the next few months.
