Meet and Greets Planned for Westview, Dresden

It’s almost time for students in Weakley County to head back to school. As is tradition, two towns will offer a chance to meet their student-athletes and show them some support.

The first event takes place at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at the Martin Public Library for the annual “Meet Chargers” event. This event is sponsored by the WHS Booster Club. The Westview Booster Club will be selling spirit wear and memberships beginning at 6 that night.

The student-athletes, along with members of the Westview High School Band, will take the stage at 7 p.m. for a community-wide pep rally. There is no cost to attend.

Lion Country will host its meet and greet as the Lions “kick off” the season with a night for fans to meet players, coaches, managers and cheerleaders for the Dresden Middle and Dresden High schools football teams.

This event will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, at Dresden’s Rotary Field. It is sponsored by the Dresden Quarterback Club and is free to attend.
