Martin Couple Robbed at Gunpoint During Home Invasion

MARTIN (November 27) — A Martin couple was terrorized by armed gunmen, who forced their way into the victims’ home over the weekend and robbed them, before fleeing the scene, according to a report issued by the Martin Police Department.

According to the incident report, at approximately 8:59 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, Martin Patrolman Demarchio Lee was dispatched to a Manley Drive address to investigate a reported home invasion robbery.

Upon arriving at the scene, Ptl. Lee spoke with the first victim, who told the officer, after hearing someone knock on the front door, he opened it to see who it was. At that time, an unknown black man grabbed the front of his shirt, forced entry into the residence, and pushed him over a coffee table located in the center of the living room.

The victim reported the man put a firearm to his head and demanded money. He was then forced to take off his pants, so the intruder could search for his wallet. The victim informed the two intruders there was a newborn child inside the residence.

The victim said the man was wearing sweatpants, a hoodie and a red bandanna covering his face.

A second victim stated a second, light-skinned man pointed a gun at her and demanded money. She gave the intruder the couple’s money totaling $1,100 from a dresser drawer inside of a bedroom.

She stated the second unknown man had tattoos on his face, and was wearing sweatpants and a blue disposable mask.

The victims said the two men fled south on Manley Drive in a white Sport Utility Vehicle, and smaller-sized black car.

Police are investigating the incident to determine the identity of the two armed men.

The home invasion involves charges of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, and theft of property. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Martin Police Department at 731-587-5355.
