The Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network is kicking off the #GrowFoodChallenge this Saturday at the Martin Farmers Market from 10 a.m. until noon with a free drive through seed-distribution beginning at 10 a.m. and plant and pot swap beginning at 11 a.m.
Schools, early childcare centers, organizations, businesses, churches, families, kids, individuals (anybody who eats) is invited to join the #GrowFoodChallenge starting Saturday, April 23 - June 18, 2022.
Those who register for the #GrowFoodChallenge in person and submit themed photos on the NWTNLFN website could win a variety of themed prizes, including the grand prize - a Rural King chest freezer full locally-raised Giffin Farm beef.
In addition, participants can win the Golden Ticket There are a total of 18 Golden Tickets hidden in 300 #GrowFoodChallenge pre-packaged seed bags including a one-day free pass to Discovery Park of America.
For those unable to attend this event, the Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network is setting up seed distribution registration points throughout the 9-county region, including several FFA Student Plant Sales through Dresden FFA, Obion Co Central FFA, and South Gibson FFA.
