Greenfield Celebrates Graduating Class with Parade

GREENFIELD (June 11) — Family and friends gathered in downtown Greenfield Thursday for a unique celebration of the Class of 2020.

Greenfield High School’s senior class had a parade in their honor to celebrate their academic achievements. Seniors rode in vehicles decorated with balloons and posters. Many in the community gathered on Front Street holding signs of congratulations and support.

Mayor Cindy McAdams gave certificates to each graduate in the parade to commemorate their graduation.

The parade started at Greenfield School and proceeded down Front Street led by emergency response vehicles.

This year’s graduating class missed out on many high school traditions most seniors take part in due to COVID-19. The parade was created to celebrate the seniors making it to graduation and to help them make a lasting memory together.
