Early voting for the State and Federal General Municipal Elections started across Tennessee on Wednesday, October 16 with a great start in Weakley County with over 1,000 early voters on the first day, over 1,000 again the second day and over 1,000 voters combined the next two days.
The early voting turnout for Weakley County was 17%. Weakley County had 3,312 voters turnout in 2024 compared to 1,927 in 2016, a 71.87% change and 3,309 in 2020, a 0.09% change.
The early voting turnout for the State of Tennessee was at almost 12% with 558,410 votes cast, 511,648 in-person early votes and 46,752 absentee by-mail votes.
Early voting will continue across Weakley County and all of Tennessee through to October 31.

Voting locations in Weakley County include the Weakley County Election Office located at 135 South Poplar Suite A in Dresden or at Martin City Masonic Lodge located at 7900 Highway 45 South in Martin. Both of these locations are open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
For those voting by mail you must have registered in person or voted in person and meet other requirements to be eligible to vote by mail. The voter must make the request in writing and include their name (as registered), date of birth, social security number, residence address, mailing address (if different), the election(s) they wish to vote in, the reason they are requesting to vote absentee, and their signature. These requests must be received in the Election Commission Office no later than Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
