MEETING NOTICE

THE FORMAL SESSION OF THE WEAKLEY COUNTY COMMISSION WILL MEET ON MARCH 16, 2026, AT 5:00 PM IN THE COUNTY COMMISSION ROOM AT THE COURTHOUSE IN DRESDEN, TN FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE AGENDA ITEMS LISTED AT WWW.WEAKLEYCOUNTYTN.GOV/COUNTYCOMMISSION.HTML.

ANYONE WANTING TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT SHALL DO SO IN THE MANNER PROVIDED IN THE COUNTY’S PROCEDURES.  SUCH PROCEDURES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST AT THE COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE.  THIS NOTICE IS GIVEN IN PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 8-44-101 TO 8-44-106, INCLUSIVE, TN CODE ANNOTATED.

Weakley County Elected Office



Interested persons are hereby notified that pursuant to T.C.A. § 5-5-111 of a vacancy in Weakley County for the position of Commissioner representing District 5.  

This vacancy will be filled by the Weakley County Commission at their regular March 16, 2026 meeting.

The position to be filled is for a term ending August 31, 2026.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SURFACE MINE

Gleason Clay Company of Gleason, TN (731) 648-5596, has made application to the State of Tennessee, Division of Water Pollution Control, for renewal Mine #2 to mine ball clay in Weakley County.  The proposed permit of 106.5 +/- acres is located in Pillowville Quadrangle and is drained by Middle Fork Obion River.  Any interested parties may contact the Mining Section, 3711 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37921.  Phone (865) 594-6035, within (30) days of this publication.
