Posted

Dresden freshman, Bailey Collie, finished 10th at the XC regionals race hosted by Westview Tuesday the 29th and qualified for the TSSAA state XC race in Hendersonville next Thursday. Collie finished the ladies 5k race with a time of 22 minutes, 30 seconds followed closely by Lily Pash, also a freshman.

Coach Wendi Maxie says, “I’m so excited for Bailey Collie to represent Dresden at the state meet!”

Pash finished 11th with a time of 22:40 missing qualifying for state by only one but medaled as one of the top 20 finishers. Also running for the Dresden Lady Lions was Tess Ogg, 42nd of 75 competitors,  completing the 5k in 25:35. Junior, Alivia Rainey finished 56th with a time of 27:23 with Molly Robinson on her heels with a time of 27:28 and placing 57th. The Lady Lion cross country runners had a great season with one of the greatest attributes of a team – genuine devotion to the team as well to improving themselves and encouraging each other throughout the season. Dresden XC is looking forward to a tough, young team next season.

Carson Brownlow-Rendon earned brass, placing 16th of the top 20 with a time of 17minutes, 52 seconds. Coming in 27th with a time of 18:28 was freshman, Vaughn Bounds. Senior, Brice Rother, finished 37th with a time of 18:59. Jesse Pash, also a senior, finished 48th with a time of 19:41 and Carter Oliver finished 101st with a time of 24:05.  “I am proud of the Dresden boys’ and girls’ teams and the efforts they put in this season,” Coach Maxie says, “We have a young team and some that have never run until this year. I’m excited to continue working with them and seeing them grow stronger.” She also says of senior runners Brice Rother and Jesse Pash, “ I will miss our two senior boys, Jesse and Brice. They were great leaders and role models for this younger group of athletes!”
