WEAKLEY COUNTY (July 17) — Schools in Weakley County continue to feed students until the start of school on August 17, 2020. The meal distribution recently reached 365,000 meals handed out to families since the school system closed its doors in March because of the global coronavirus pandemic. Children under the age of 18 are eligible for the meal pickups.
As schools look to reopen for fall, meal distribution is Fridays only for the next three weeks – July 31, August 7 and August 14.
Students will still receive meats, vegetables and drinks, but fresh vegetables and new entree items are added to the meal pickups that still include fresh milk.
There are many locations families can pick up meals in the county from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Fridays.
Pick Up Locations Include:
Dresden — the elementary and middle school bus drop off and Jolly Springs Baptist Church;
Latham — Mitchell’s Transport;
Palmersville — Palmersville Fire Department;
