Special to the Enterprise

All are welcome to attend the Friends of the Library book discussion on Thursday, March 30, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Martin Public Library.

The featured book for this “Let’s Talk about It” discussion is Delia Owens’ best-selling novel Where the Crawdads Sing, the story of an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. Roberta Peacock, a Friends of the Library member and former director of Martin Public Library, will lead the discussion.

The novel was first published in 2018, and a movie was released in 2022. A captivating mystery is central to this story, which has themes of isolation, abuse, love, nature, social injustice, and more. Organizers of the FOL book discussions encourage any interested persons to attend this informal yet informative gathering. Several books will also be available for an ongoing book exchange.
