HENRY PARKER HONORED DURING CIVIL RIGHTS CONFERENCE

Dr. Henry Parker (center), UT Martin professor of philosophy, was presented a plaque Feb. 7 during the university’s Civil Rights Conference recognizing his long association with the event. Parker will retire at the end of the current academic year after teaching at the university since fall 1990. His total teaching career spans 67 years. Participating in the presentation were (L to R) Alisha Melton, executive director, Office of Research, Outreach and Economic Development; Austin Ferrell, education lecturer and Call Me MiSTER program co-coordinator; Henri Giles, lecturer, Department of Mass Media and Strategic Communication; Parker; Dominique Crockett, director of equity and diversity and Title IX coordinator; Dr. Danny Pirtle, associate professor, Department of Behavioral Sciences; and Kameron Echols, interim assistant director, Office of Multicultural Affairs.
