11th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast

The 11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Breakfast will be Monday, January 16, at 9:00 am at the Martin Event Center located within the Martin Public Library. Tickets are available for purchase through Eventbrite or through the City of Martin Facebook Events page. The keynote speaker this year will be the President of Lane College, Dr. Logan Hampton.

The City of Martin, the University of Tennessee at Martin, and the UTM Black Student Association invite you to join them for a morning of celebration, good food, music, and fellowship. This celebration breakfast is a Town and Gown event that brings together the community and the university to celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and to raise awareness that we should all dream with a vision and live with a purpose. During the program, attendees will hear from our keynote speaker Dr. Logan Hampton, and a special vocal performance from Ms. Mykia Campbell. There are three different awards presented as well: The Alpha Award, The Torch Award, and The City of Martin Harold Connor Award.

Location/Parking: Martin Event Center is located within the Martin Public Library (Guests may enter through the main entrance of Martin Public Library at 410 S Lindell Street. Public Parking is available in downtown Martin.)

  1. Purchase table or the number of individual tickets you need on Eventbrite
  2. Print off your ticket or bring a copy of your ticket on your smartphone
  3. Present either type of ticket at the check-in table in the lobby upon arrival

If anyone needs help with registration, please come to Martin City Hall and we will help you get registered to attend the event.

Weather Cancellation: In the event of inclement weather including heavy snow or ice the event will be canceled. Information regarding cancellation will be posted on the City of Martin website and social media accounts. Tickets will only be refunded in the event of a cancellation.
