Shirley Mae Parks 1943 - 2022

Shirley Mae Parks was born on January 28, 1943, and died on February 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Sam Joe Parks and Lola Mae Derington Parks; her “adopted” parents, Clyde Gordon Parks and Vennie Beauton Derington Parks; her brother, Joe Dwayne Parks of Seymore, Indiana; double first cousin, Charles William Parks of Sikeston, Missouri; and one nephew, Joe Dean Parks of Colombia, South Carolina.

She leaves behind two biological brothers, Hulon Dean Parks (Francis and nephew Mike) of Colombia, South Carolina and Paul Howard Parks of Chicago, Illinois (Doris Jean, nephews Larry, Terry, and Jerry); and double first cousin Ronnie Gordon Parks of Milan, Tennessee (Pamela Lee Smith, niece Tracy Annice and nephew Brian Michael).

She attended Gleason School where she graduated in 1961. She went on to become an American Airlines stewardess and was successful in business.

Her remains were interred between her two mothers in the Mount Zion Cemetery west of Gleason, Tennessee, with members of the immediate family in attendance.
