100 Fingers to Play Piano

Members of the UT Martin Piano Ensemble will be joined by area pianists for a varied program of delightful music on Monday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m., in Blankenship Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building. Featured on the program are Mozart’s “Sonata in D Major” and Grieg’s “Norwegian Dance” for piano duet, along with a two-piano arrangement of Bach’s “Trio Sonata in C minor” for organ. Also performed will be two pieces for two pianos, eight hands, William Gillock’s “Champagne Toccata” and Kevin Olson’s “Scott Joplin Rag Rhapsody.”

The 100 fingers belong to UTM students Benjamin Beard of Union City and Samuel Green of Munford; area high school students Christopher Ostenson and Elizabeth Ostenson of Martin and Timothy Odle of Trenton; and area music teachers Robin Pape of Martin, Linda Farmer of Dresden, Linda Williams and Rita Winter of Union City and Dr. Elaine Harriss, Director of the UTM Piano Ensemble.

There is no admission charge, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
