Westview Steamrolls Riverside in 2A Quarterfinal

MURFREESBORO (March 8) - Westview opened its state quarterfinal game against Decatur County-Riverside with a 13-4 run and never trailed Tuesday evening in Murfreesboro.

The Lady Chargers rolled past the Lady Panthers 55-29 to advance to the semifinals.

McCall Sims led a three-tined attack with 13 points. Jada Harrison and Kylee Alexander each had 11 and the Lady Chargers were in command the whole way.

Riverside made an early run at Westview in the first. It trimmed the deficit to three, 13-10, with :44 left after Kylie Frost's basket, but Westview was never in any real danger.

As the second quarter began, Jillian Brigance catalyzed a 12-2 run with her three ball. Sims, Angelina Barr and Harrison joined the party and Westview imposed its will. Westview led 29-18 at the break.

Alexander's triple accented Westview's 12-3 run to start the third quarter. Alexander rang the bell from three to start the fourth and boosted Westview's lead to 25. The Lady Panthers never got closer than 22 the rest of the way.

Jayla Davenport led Riverside with 16 points and eight rebounds. Riverside ended its season at 19-13.

Barr had nine points and six rebounds for Westview.
