KNOXVILLE (September 18) – Former Martin-Westview kicker J.T. Carver will have his name forever etched into the University of Tennessee record books.

No, he didn’t break some unattainable mark or raise the bar for future kickers, necessarily. But he did enter the game against Tennessee Tech to boot an extra point in the Vols 56-0 win over the visiting Golden Eagles Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee capped a 12-play, 52-yard drive when reserve quarterback Harrison Bailey rambled into the end zone from the 2 with 7:52 remaining. Carver added the conversion kick to lift the Vols to a 56-0 lead, which was the final margin.

Carver is the son of Keith and Hollianne Carver of Martin.

The Vols travel to The Swamp Saturday to take on the Florida Gators.
