WCSD Warns Public to Beware of COVID-19 Vaccination Scam

WEAKLEY COUNTY (January 12) — The Weakley County Sheriff's Department is warning residents of a COVID-19 vaccination scam. Captain Randall McGowan says an elderly Weakley County resident received a call asking for bank account information needed to get a prescription for a COVID-19 shot. Captain McGowan says this is an obvious scam, and if anyone gets one of these calls, to hang up. Weakley County residents are encouraged to advise their elderly relatives of this scam so they're not taken advantage of.
