Julia’s younger life was spent in Tennessee and Kentucky before graduating in 1957 from Dresden High School, in Dresden, Tennessee. She attended Murray State University where she met the love of her life, Joe R. Blincoe. The two dated four years in college and were married on December 25, 1961. They moved to Lesterville, Missouri, in 1962 to begin teaching careers and start their family. Joe and Julia had two children, Ron and Ellen, in Lesterville before moving to Madras, Oregon, in 1976. Julia continued to work as a high school guidance counselor and home economics teacher while making a home for her tight-knitted family of four. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who whole-heartedly served others with love and joy. Julia retired in 1996 after 34 years of teaching. In retirement, Julia enjoyed traveling with family and friends, sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking; she was active in her church, First Baptist Church of Madras. She enjoyed her six grandchildren and was often planning trips to visit or projects to sew for them.

Julia spent her last year of life in Carrollton, Texas, with Joe, to live closer to her daughter. She was the light of her facility’s wing, bringing humor, wit, and happiness to everyone around her.

Julia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe R. Blincoe of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Ellen (William) Dillard, and grandchildren Allison, Rachel, Kristen, and Andrew Dillard of Carrollton, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Dawna Blincoe, and granddaughters, Erin and Renee Blincoe of Baker City, Oregon; and sisters-in-law, Eloise and Mae Griffith.
