Members of the David Johnson Chorus are offering upcoming concerts as part of their Farewell Tour after delighting audiences near and far for more than two decades. A Christmas concert is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday, December 5 at Sharon First Baptist Church.

SHARON (December 5) - The renowned David Johnson Chorus is bringing the Christmas portion of its Farewell Tour to Sharon First Baptist Church in Sharon. After twenty-two years of entertaining people throughout this region and the nation, the David Johnson Chorus will come to an end next spring.

But for now, it is primed and ready to bring one of its popular “Come Celebrate Christmas!” shows to Sharon First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 5. The free concert will begin at 7 p.m.

Families have made attending these concerts part of their Christmas tradition because of the heart warming and entertaining music. They enjoy the “magic” that the David Johnson Chorus has become famous for.

Besides singing traditional Christmas songs like “White Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” this year’s show will also feature a cantata composed and arranged by Mary McDonald, one of the most popular composers and arrangers of Christian music today. The show is a celebration of the spirit of Christmas and of the wonderful gift of God’s Son to the world.

Director David Johnson said, “I’m really looking forward to giving audiences something to be joyful about in the face of so much turmoil that 2020 has brought us. This will be everyone’s last chance to hear us at Christmas time.”

General Manager, Gail Jercinovich, added, “Because rules related to COVID-19 keep changing week to week, people need to be sure and check with each venue closer to the concert dates. We do know that they are planning at this time to have live audiences. We can’t wait to see those smiling faces.”

The 35-member chorus has performed in Washington, D.C.; Cincinnati, Ohio; St. Louis, Missouri; Provo, Utah; Asheville, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia, and all across the state of Tennessee.
