NASHVILLE (September 2) — Members of a West Tennessee National Guard unit will soon return home.

According to Lt. Col. Christopher Messina of the Tennessee National Guard, the Jackson-based 194th Engineer Brigade is returning from its mission in Kuwait, after a year-long deployment. This includes the 194th Engineer Brigade headquarters and several elements of the brigade.

The unit contains some members of the Weakley County community, along with other parts of West Tennessee.

“They’re in the United States now,” Lt. Col. Messina said. “They’re going through quarantine and a decompression phase as part of their redeployment back in the United States. They’ll be back in Tennessee, probably in a couple of weeks.”

More information will be made available as it is released.
