Dresden Man Facing Second Aggravated Assault Charge

DRESDEN (August 27) – A Dresden man charged in connection with the shooting of a juvenile in July now faces another charge of aggravated assault after he allegedly chased a woman from his home brandishing a knife and carrying a gun.

Bobby Ellis Dickens, 41, of 112 Westbrook Ln., was arrested by the Dresden Police Department August 27, 202o, after a witness claimed he shot a gun at his residence, causing Kalista Morrow to fear for her life. According to an affidavit, Morrow fled from the property and was picked up by someone on Red Hill Road.

Morrow told officers Dickens was looking for her and was “raging mad” while walking down the road screaming.

Dickens admitted to officers he fired a shot while in his home, walked down the road with a knife and gun, but never threatened to harm Morrow. According to the affidavit, Dickens said he only threatened to harm himself.

He was charged with aggravated assault.

Dickens was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in July in connection with the July 5, 2020, shooting of a 17-year-old female. The juvenile was airlifted to LeBonheur He was indicted last week by the September term of the Weakley County Grand Jury for the shooting incident.

Dickens is free on a $1,000 bond.
