Dresden Lions Host Cross Country Meet

DRESDEN (August 18) — The Dresden High School Lions Cross Country program hosted ten teams to take part in the school’s first race of the season Tuesday, a 5,000-meter run.

In the girls’ race, 50 runners competed for the first position. Greenfield freshman Ginny Archie came in third place with a time of 23:50 and her teammate Reese Biggs came in 37th. Parker Ferrell of Dresden came in seventh place with 25:40, while teammate Lily Roberts finished 18th. Scarlett Naile of Westview came in ninth place, and Gloria Hogan, also of Westview, came in 39th with Macy Brawley in 42nd.

Olivia Jones and Amy Mitchell of Greenfield came in 45th and 46th, respectively. Abigail Rother of Dresden finished 48th and Latissh Sanders of Westview came in 49th.

In the boys’ race, Dresden’s sole male runner, Nicholas Skarsten, came in eighth place with a time of 19:24. Zachary Parrott of Westview finished 18th with a time of 21:37, and teammate Houston Baker finished soon after in 22nd. Other Westview players earning places during the meet included: Abdurrahan Obdate - 32nd, Ethan Burns - 34th, Dylan Totty - 35th, Leo Brown - 39th and Mason Stout - 46th.
