Dresden Middle School Hosts Softball Tryouts

Although many local sports are being canceled or postponed due to COVID-19, Dresden’s middle school softball team is still participating in tryouts and practices for the fall season.

Many fifth grade girls got to try out for the team on Saturday, June 6 at Wilson Park. They practiced hitting, catching, and getting familiar with softball rules.

With softball tryouts, they could not have more than 20 people at one time on the field, so those already on the team from the past season who could play in this season did not have to try out again.

Head Coach Rachel Winstead said she expected that this season should be successful, and they are practicing hard for the preseason games, which start Father’s Day weekend for the Lady Lions.
