MARTIN (May 26) — The University of Tennessee at Martin hosts its sixth-annual Captain’s Challenge fundraising event June 3 with the goal to raise $325,000 in 24 hours. This year’s theme is “Captain’s Challenge—Back to the Future Edition” to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Skyhawk.

Contributors can direct their donations toward any campus office, department, athletic organization, scholarship fund, special program or another fundraiser at challenge.utm.edu/. Each college will have a thermometer to track its real-time fundraising progress on the donation website.

Donors are asked to consider the Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Fund, the Fine Arts Building Phase II fund, the Innovation and Product Realization Building “The Garage” fund, the Athletics-Victory fund or the Ned Ray McWherter Institute fund if unsure of which program to donate to specifically.

Those interested in helping to promote the event on social media and through other channels are encouraged to register as “Captain’s Challenge Pilots” at alumni.utm.edu/pilot.

Last year, with the goal of $300,000, UT Martin raised over $319,000 in 24 hours.
