The Executive Committee of the Tennessee Iris Festival announces the 2020 festival, originally scheduled for April 25 to May 2 and then rescheduled for July 4-11, is now canceled due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic. The Executive Committee regrets the decision to cancel this year’s festival. The decision was made in consideration of the safety of all citizens of our community in light of the projections the pandemic is expected to continue until a vaccine is discovered and a significant number of citizens are immunized to prevent the spread of the virus.

The City of Dresden plans a fireworks show on July 4. This will be a drive-up show at Wilson Park beginning at 9 p.m. Spectators can drive their cars to the area of the park to view the show and park at either the Civic Center parking lots, in the park parking areas on Gaylord Street or in the Walking Trail parking spaces. Parking will also be available in the parking area behind the girls softball and T-ball fields.
