Several girls of the Dresden Middle School track and field have made the TN MileSplit ranking of top 10 runners in the state! Hudson McDaniels has earned a 2nd place ranking in the state of Tennessee for the 1600-meter race.
McDaniels was first placed last Friday at the Calloway Middle School Open in Murray, Ky. Peyton Oliver earned a ranking of 10th in the state. Oliver came in 2nd for the 1600m with a time of 5:42. Crushing the competition, three other Lady Lions followed closely behind McDaniels and Oliver; Sasha Rodrequez was 3rd with a time of 6:07, Maggie Robinson earned 6th at 6:29. The girls 4x400 relay team also received top honors for the state of Tennessee by TN MileSplit with a 9th place ranking against all other 4x4 teams.
McDaniels, Oliver, Rodriguez, and Kinley Summers came in first place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:35. Another relay win for DMS at Calloway was the 4x800m (McDaniels, Oliver, Rodriguez, Nella Wilhite). The 4x200m team (Emzy Collins, Gwendolyn Bounds, Maggie Robinson, and Kynlee Summers) earned DMS a 2nd place finish with a time of 2:06.
Another race with top finishers was the 400-meter with Nella Wilhite coming 2nd (1:13.12), Maggie Robinson earning 3rd (1:13.5), Taelyn Trevathan (8th), Gwendolyn Bounds (13), and Emilee Farrell (17). Kynlee Summers also had a 2nd place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:53, followed by Emzy Collins(4th, Kinsley Smith (6th), and Tymber Farrell (9th). Competing in the 200-meter race were Jaylee Roark, Tymber Farrell, and Emilee Farrell. Roark also competed in the 100m. Kinsley Smith also took 6th in the 300-meter hurdles. With so many wins at this race the Lady Lions brought home a team 4th place finish.
Dresden boys dominated the mile race. Miles Cary, finishing first place with a time of 5:21. Cary is ranked 46th in the state of Tennessee according to TN MileSplit. Benjamin Pettit followed closely behind finishing 2nd with a time of 5:32. Gavin Bryson came in 3rd for Dresden ( 5:42). Cary, Pettit and Bryson also took top finish in the 800-meter races as well earning second, third and fifth, respectively. Gavin Bryson came in 3rd for the 400-meter race. Benjamin Pettit finished 7th and Miles Carry finished 8th.
