Gleason High School struggled to find any kind of consistency in its football game at South Fulton Friday night.
The host Red Devils exacted a 54-14 victory over the Bulldogs.
Gleason coach Noah Lampkins said few things went right for his team.
“They were quite a bit better than us up front and a lot more experienced,” he said. “We had an off night throwing the ball. Against a team like that, you have to loosen them up and throw it. We couldn’t do it.”
Gleason scored early with a 100-yard interception return by Drake Lehmkuhl. In the fourth quarter, Wylan Gustafson scored on an 8-yard run.
“We struggled to run the ball and we had a couple of fumbles,” Lampkins said. “They bullied us up front. It was just an off night all the way around.:”
Gleason will try to right the ship this week when it hosts Lake County in a big district showdown. Lake County defeated Humboldt, 58-24 last week.
