WE CARE Ministries Announces Monthly Needs

MARTIN (June 27) – Donations for WE CARE Ministries are needed to help assist families in Weakley County. Money spent in the thrift store becomes peas, corn, cereal, water, utility assistance, rental assistance, eye and dental care, school supplies for local children and other assistance programs of the ministry.

The Thrift Store is open to the public every Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (outside sales begin at 9 a.m.) and every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. (outside sales begin at 8:30 a.m.).

Hours of assistance for community members are Mondays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. Call 731-587-6257 for more information.

WE CARE is announcing the ministry is in need of a nice, used laser printer for its office.

Saltine crackers, oatmeal and muffin mix donations are needed for the Food Bank.

The following donations are needed for WE CARE’s Thrift Store: gently-used household items, kitchen and cooking items, good usable furniture, chest of drawers, reusable plastic bags. The Thrift Store can no longer accept large TVs; flat-screen TVs only. WE CARE does not accept the following: computer towers, monitors or laptops, built-in appliances, sofa bed, paint from individuals or home-recorded VCR tapes.

WE CARE is also asking for the following books for its Thrift Store: Christian fiction and non-fiction, romance, mystery, Bibles for children and adults, western books, and children’s books.

Weakley County supports WE CARE through donations of clothing and household items and through financial donations. Your donations make a difference in the lives of others.

WE CARE accepts donated items in its containers outside at all times if a receipt is not required. If a receipt is needed for a donated item, drop off items Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. until noon. Donation hours are closed on holiday weekends.
