Two transported following school bus accident










An accident involving a school bus and pickup truck took place in Dresden Thursday afternoon, as students were being transported home after school.


At approximately 3:03 p.m., February 7, a Weakley County school bus, driven by 63-year-old Michael R. Long of Gleason, collided with a 1999 Red Ford F150 driven by 27-year-old Austin Fuqua of Martin.


The crash occurred at the intersection of Paris Hwy 54 and Palmersville Hwy 89 in Dresden, which is adjacent to at TJ’s Market.


According to a report issued by the Dresden Police Department, a security camera video showed that the school bus pulled out from Moran Road onto East Main Street in front of the westbound pickup truck.


A 13-year-old student and the truck driver were transported to West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital by Weakley County EMS, where they were treated for minor injuries.


Both vehicles were towed from the scene by wrecker.
