A land purchase and a rental fee increase were two of the top items considered by the Weakley County School Board, during Thursday night’s regular monthly meeting.
Members of the board unanimously approved a resolution to the General Purpose School Fund authorizing the expenditure of $28,000 for the purchase of a parking lot adjacent to Greenfield School.
The resolution also amends the budget to cover the cost of an increase for the use of UT Martin’s football field. It allocates $125,000 to help pay for the installation of artificial turf, and locks-in the current annual rental fee amounting to $27,500 for the next 10 years.
