A weekend house fire at a rural Weakley County residence is under investigation by the TBI and State Arson Squad.

According to Latham / Dukedom Fire Chief Ronald Legans, firefighters were paged out at 5:59 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, to a home located at 7988 Hwy 118, Dukedom. The residence is owned by Roland Martin, and was occupied by Robert Buhrmester.

According to Chief Legans, the one-and-a-half-story, wood-frame home, which was built in 1961, and all of its contents, were a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time and is still under investigation by members of the TBI and State Arson investigators with the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
