Reed’s Seeds sown by hoops shootout

An old hymn often sung around Thanksgiving speaks of sowing seeds of kindness in order to eventually reap eternal rewards. The same could be said about the life and legacy of a local youth.
Reed Butler died of cancer last October after a three-year battle, but his memory and mission live on in a recently formed non-profit organization. Reed’s Seeds officially took off in February of this year and it seeks to plant and nurture seeds of hope, love and joy in the lives of community members enduring dark days.
On Friday night, standout county middle school basketball players and cheerleaders took part in the second annual Team Reed Spring Shootout at Martin Middle School.
