Northwest Tennessee is a tourism hot spot.

Kentucky Lake, just east of Weakley County, is a summer vacation paradise with an abundance of opportunities for swimming, boating, camping, hiking and relaxation.

Both Reelfoot Lake, located to the west of Weakley County, and Kentucky Lake are world reknown for their fishing and waterfowl hunting.

If golf is your game, Weakley County Country Club offers a 18 hole golf course open to the public on a limited basis. Doe Valley Golf Course located near Martin is a full 18 hole golf course open to the public. There are also several other public golf courses available throughout the northwest Tennessee area.

Weakley County is home of Garrett Lake, a state owned lake operated by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission. Facilities available at Garrett Lake include boat launch ramps and areas for picnics. The lake offers goods fishing and has recently undergone renovations and restocking. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency invested $60,000 in 1997 into Garrett Lake. The money was spent to build a fishing pier, new boat ramp and dock along with a picnic pavilion. The lake was also restocked with 5000 plus eight-inch channel catfish.

Big Cypress Tree State Natural Area is located in Weakley County seven miles from the town of Greenfield. Big Cypress Tree is a day-use only natural area. The natural area is named for a champion bald cypress tree that is located on the area. The tree was once the largest and oldest bald cypress tree in the United States and the largest tree of any species east of the Mississippi River. Big Cypress Tree has a picnic area containing a picnic shelter with tables and grills. Restrooms, playground equipment and a ball field are available.

West Tennessee Agricultural Pavilion on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin has over 100 events each year in the 1,200 seat indoor heated arena. Events range from horse and livestock shows to truck and tractor pulls. Santa's Village each December is held in the pavilion and draws in excess of 10,000 visitors during the event. Recreation in Weakley County consists of 15 area parks located in the various cities and communities. Also recreation consists of The Weakley County Country Club, Movie Theaters, Bowling Alleys, Dining, and Hotels/Motels.
