Dresden was able to build a lead early then hold off the Tide rally late to take the nine-point win over Peabody.
Though the Tide cut the lead down to five points early in the second stanza, a short jumper from Tyler McPeak sparked a 9-3 run that was capped by an Austin Evans jumper to give the Lions a 23-12 lead. Peabody was able to cut the lead down to seven points later in the frame, but McPeak sparked another run that helped the Lions take a 36-24 lead at the half.
Peabody again cut into the lead early in the second half, but the Lions were able to keep their lead at double digits after a jumper from McPeak pushed the lead to 50-40 at the end of three quarters.
A three-pointer from Geoffrey Crowley sparked a rally that would cut the Dresden lead down to 60-58 with about 45 seconds left in the game. But, the Lions hit seven of eight free throws down the stretch to seal the win for Dresden.
McPeak led the way for the Lions with 16 points while Matt McCulley added 11 and Evans tossed in 10.

The Gleason Lady Bulldogs held a slim lead after one quarter, but a slow second stanza proved to be the difference as the Lady Vikings from Humboldt took a 40-37 win on Tuesday night at Gleason High School.

The Lady Bulldogs led by three points after the opening quarter, but an 11-2 second stanza helped the Lady Vikings take a three-point win.
A jumper from Jenna Frazier tied the game early and lead to a 7-2 run to give the Lady Bulldogs a 7-4 lead after one quarter.
The Humboldt girls dominated the second quarter though, as a three-point play from Natasha Davis and a three-point play from Jerrica Morgan bookended the quarter and gave the Lady Vikings a 15-9 lead at the end of the half.
An early bucket from Frazier cut the Humboldt lead to four points, but a three-pointer from Cilisha Harper sparked a 12-2 run that was finally ended by another Frazier tally. A late Kim Edenfield jumper cut the lead down to 29-17 at the end of three frames.
A pair of three-pointers from Edenfield and a jumper from Taylor Stout helped cut the Humboldt lead to six points with just under four minutes left in the game. The Lady Vikings were able to build their lead back to nine points with about two minutes left, but a three-pointer from Ashley Coble and free throws from Edenfield and Stout cut the lead down to three points with only 40 seconds left. But, the Lady Vikings were able to hold off the Lady Bulldogs to seal the district win.
Edenfield and Frazier each led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points in the loss.
