Alan Parrish
Alan Parrish, 58, of South Fulton, died Sunday, January 25,
2009, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be
held today, Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Hornbeak
Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery
in Dukedom.
Mr. Parrish was a truck driver for James Gammon & Sons and
was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Mayfield, Kentucky. He
was born February 4, 1950 in Fulton County, Kentucky and lived in
this area all of his life.
Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Erwin) Parrish
of South Fulton; his parents, Marjorie (Bowlin) and William Edward
"Billy" Parrish of South Fulton; four sons and a daughter-in-law,
David Parrish of Paducah, Tony and Nicki Blaylock of Martin,
Mitchell Parrish of Jackson, and Michael Parrish of South Fulton;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Angelia Parrish of South Fulton,
Tammy and Justin Hall of Martin, and Jenny and Jason Forrester of
Tarawa Terrace, North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Laura Canup of
Murray; a sister, Laura Patricia Johnson of Hendersonville; fourteen
grandchildren, Lawson Parrish of Paducah, Alexia and Zachary Parrish
of Fulton, Damon, Aubree, Justice and Preston Hall of Martin,
Gabrielle Parrish of Jackson, Cain, Brittany, Anthony and Krishane
Blaylock of Martin, Lucas and Katie Forrester of Tarawa Terrace,
North Carolina; and two step-grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Canup
of Murray.
Bobbie Wilson
Bobbie Wilson, 74, of Dyersburg, formerly of Gleason, died
Monday, January 19, 2009, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services for Mrs. Wilson were held Wednesday, January 21,
2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gleason.
Reverend Rudy Ring officiated the services.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a member of Lenox Baptist
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Wilson;
and her parents, Jay W. and Mignon Morgan.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by a son, David Faulkner of Ridgley;
a brother, Joe W. Morgan of Murfreesboro; and two grandchildren.
Elizabeth Jane Conley Sanford
Elizabeth Jane Conley Sanford, 74, of Union City, died
Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sanford will be held Thursday, January 29,
2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will
follow at Stanley's Chapel Cemetery in Union City. Rev. Larry
Humbert and Rev. Roger Lipe will officiate the services.
Mrs. Sanford was a homemaker and a member of Stanley's Chapel
United Methodist Church. She was born February 23, 1934 in Obion
County to the late E.E. (Crip) Conley and Mary Lee Johnson Conley.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanford was also preceded in death
by her husband, Gene Sanford.
Mrs. Sanford is survived by two daughters, Becky (Cleo)
Barnes of Union City, and Sandy (Randy) Brundige of Martin; a
sister, Sue Brownlow of Metuchen, New Jersey; and four
grandchildren, Jared Barnes of Raleigh, North Carolina, Elizabeth
Barnes of Union City, Carmen Brundige of Martin, and Natalie
Brundige of Martin.
Emma Elizabeth Davis Prince
Emma Elizabeth Davis Prince, 87, of Dresden, died Sunday,
January 18, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral
services for Ms. Prince were held Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at
11:00 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Sharon. Burial followed
in Alamo Cemetery. Bro. Donald Doster officiated the services.
Ms. Prince worked in the retail industry. She was born March
3, 1921 in Lake County.
Ms. Prince is survived by a son, Jimmy (Linda) Davis of
Sharon; two brothers, Billy Chapel of Greenfield, and C.H. Chapel of
California; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Jobelle McWilliams Gallien
Graveside services for Jobelle McWilliams Gallien, 71, of
Memphis were held at noon on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Eastside
Cemetery in Martin, Tennessee, with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gallien died January 22, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in
Memphis.
She was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee on April 27, 1937, the
daughter of the late Jasper Hogan and Ethel Turman McWilliams. She
attended the public schools of Wayne County, Tennessee, and was an
honor graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and taught
elementary school for many years in the public schools of Memphis
and Tampa, Florida. She also worked with her husband for many years
in his pediatric dental practice in Tampa. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Gallien was preceded in death by her husband of nearly
50 years, Dr. Glenn Sinclair Gallien, Jr. in 2000; her parents; a
brother, Hogan T. McWilliams; a son-in-law, Larry Geller; and her
grandparents, John Franklin and Mildred McGee Turman, Jasper Allen
and Tamza Bryant McWilliams; and her mother-in-law, Mary Belle Hurst
Gallien; and father-in-law, Dr. Glenn Sinclair Gallien, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Sinclair Gallien III, and
wife, Bethany Worley of Brownsville, Tennessee; and a daughter,
Deborah Jo Gallien Geller of Fresno, California; three
grandchildren, Rachel Geller, Emily Geller and Glenn S. "Gess"
Gallien IV; a sister, Suzanne, and husband, Dr. Richard L. Clardy of
Augusta, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Judy McWilliams of Waynesboro,
Tennessee; and 3 brother-in-laws, Mark Gallien, and Dr. Tom Gallien
of Martin, Tennessee; and Dr. John Gallien of Savannah, Tennessee.

Martha T. Dickson
Martha T. Dickson, 81, of Bradford, died Friday, January 23,
2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services
for Ms. Dickson were held Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 4:00 p.m.
at Hunt Funeral Home Chapel in Bradford. Burial followed in Locust
Grove Cemetery. Brad Brewer officiated the services.
Ms. Dickson was factory employee for Martin Shirt Factory and
a member of Locust Grove Church of Christ. She was born December 28,
1927 in Gibson County to the late Thomas David Hailey and Bessie Mae
Peevyhouse.
Ms. Dickson is survived by two sons, Charles David Dickson of
Bradford, and James Ray Dickson of Bradford; two sisters, Margie
Parrish of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Wanda Mitchell of Bradford;
three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mildred Louise Bowers Thomas
Mildred Louise Bowers Thomas, 91, of Martin, died Friday,
January 23, 2009, at Sumner Regional Hospital in Gallatin,
Tennessee. Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held today,
Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist
Church. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev.
Jerry Powell, Rev. Mike Sams, and Rev. David Brown will officiate
the services.
Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and formerly worked at Merritt
Clothing Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs.
Thomas was born September 22, 1917 in Weakley County to the late
Carlos Bowers and Ruby House Bowers. In addition to her parents,
Mrs. Thomas was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil
(Preacher) Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by three sons, Donald Thomas of
Conway, Arkansas, Ron Thomas of Knoxville, and Terry Thomas of
Spring, Texas; a daughter, Gloria Prince of Hendersonville; ten
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Ralph Nix Rogers
Ralph Nix Rogers, 92, of Martin, died Wednesday, January 21,
2009, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Rogers were held
Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial
followed in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Elwood Doss and Rev.
David Brown officiated the services.
Mr. Rogers was the former principal at Sharon High School,
taught at Martin High School and retired as Post Master in Martin.
He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers received his
Bachelor's Degree from Murray State University and his Master's
Degree from George Peabody University in Nashville. He was born
January 23, 1916 in Weakley County to the late Estes Rogers and
Essie Nix Rogers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers was also
preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Duncan Rogers; and a son,
Steven Estes Rogers.
Mr. Rogers is survived by two grandchildren, Lauren Rogers of
Knoxville, and Jon Rogers of Rutherford.
Vernon S. (Steve) Treadway
Vernon S. (Steve) Treadway, 79, of Martin, died Thursday,
January 22, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Memorial service and Celebration of Life service will be held
Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in
Martin. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Chuckey,
Tennessee. Rev. Craig Peevyhouse and Rev. Ryan Potts will officiate
the services.
Mr. Treadway formerly worked at the Red Stone Arsenal and was
retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He attended Mt. Pelia
Baptist Church. Mr. Treadway was born September 16, 1929 in Chuckey,
Tennessee to the late William Edwin Treadway and Gladys Painter
Treadway.
Mr. Treadway is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Gearin
Treadway of Martin; two sons, Gregg S. (Debbie) Treadway of
Hendersonville, and Victor Treadway of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and
three grandchildren, Ashley Treadway, Luke Treadway, and Lauren
Treadway.
Wayne Richard Skulimowski
Wayne Richard Skulimowski, 66, of Greenfield, died Monday,
January 19, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral
services for Mr. Skulimowski were held Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at
2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed in
Gearin's Chapel Cemetery in Greenfield. Gerry Gallimore officiated
the services.
Mr. Skulimowski was born February 11, 1942 in Chicago,
Illinois.
Mr. Skulimowski is survived by his wife, Maggie Skulimowski
of Greenfield; a daughter, Sheree (Skulimowski) Cameron of Raleigh,
North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Donna (Wolfe) Winters of South
Pittsburg, Tennessee; two stepsons, Ray Wolfe of Greenfield, and
Bill Wolfe of Greenfield; a sister, Sandra Saisia of Niles,
Illinois; one grandchild; and eight great-grandchildren.
